WHAT WE DO
contract manufacturer of
crftp pipes
and profiles
Alformet is a specialized contract manufacturer for continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite pipes and profiles with a location in Dörth, Germany. We work with technically demanding customers who need more than a standard pipe — they require specifically engineered performance.
With direct access to the machine and process know-how of the AFPT GmbH we offer prototype, pre-series, and series production under one roof — with complete traceability according to our AS9100 quality management system.
APPLICATIONS

OUR PROCESS
LASER-ASSISTED
TAPE WINDING
We use AFP-based laser-assisted thermoplastic tape Winding (LATW) with in-situ consolidation. No autoclave. No duroplastic chemistry. Components are consolidated in a single pass — repeatable, traceable, and ready for industrial series production.
01 Laser heating
The laser simultaneously heats the incoming tape and the substrate surface to melting temperature — precisely controlled at the nip point.
02 Consolidation roller
A pressure roller fuses the melted layers together. Once the roller has passed, the thermoplastic has already consolidated again.
03 In-situ consolidation
No downstream oven or autoclave cycle is required. The component leaves the machine fully consolidated and dimensionally stable.
04 Real-time quality logging
Process parameters — temperature, pressure, speed, fiber angle — are recorded in real-time for each layer. Complete traceability according to AS9100.

__
recyclable
The thermoplastic matrix can be melted and reprocessed.
End-of-life recyclability is embedded in the material —
unlike duroplastics.
__
no autoclave
In-situ consolidation eliminates the autoclave step — this reduces cycle time, energy consumption, and investment costs.
__
Corrosion resistance
No surface treatment necessary. Thermoplastic
composites are chemically inert in aggressive media — far
superior to steel or aluminum.
__
Formable & Weldable
In contrast to thermosets, thermoplastic components can be reshaped,
welded, and thermally joined — enabling new
connection strategies.
__
High impact toughness
Thermoplastic matrices absorb impact energy through ductile
deformation — significantly better than brittle thermoset composites.
__
Tailored performance
Fiber type, matrix, orientation, and number of layers are independently optimized for each application. No compromises due to standard pipe materials.
__
High temperature resistant
PEEK and PAEK matrices are permanently loadable up to over 200°C — and
outperform most thermosets without loss of performance.
__
4× lighter than steel
Carbon CFRTP pipes achieve a specific stiffness and
strength that no metal can reach — at a fraction of the weight.
